Amazing, yes even magical...

I am very grateful for many things in my life but I would like to take the time to post about two wonderful items I can not live with out. Both of these items may at first glance appear plain everyday household objects. But they have magical properties. Well maybe not magical but it seems that way. And I love them and they make my life easier and happier so I figure it is time I gave them adequate appreciation for the role they play in my life.

My Footstool

This portion should be entitled "ode to my Footstool" because I find my self daily using it and being amazed by it. Yes its sounds ridiculous but my footstool makes me so happy. Since I acquired this beautiful sturdy stool, my house stays cleaner. Really it does! Let me explain, I am not particularly short but for some reason I can only reach about 20% of the cabinets in my house. This means when I would do dishes, file bills, or put away laundry(all of our clothes are in cabinets, yes I know it is strange) I would only be able to put less than half of it away. I would try the trick of throwing it up and trying to get it to stay on the shelf, but that didn't work so well, especially with folded clothes and I couldn't do it with the dishes. And alas our chairs are not the type you can stand on. So in the end the other half would be laying out for Andrew to put away when he got home. I had never realized how much the non-reachable shelf items cluttered my house until I got the stool and so much of the mess seemed to disappear. I love it. Really I can't explain it, but I have very fond feelings toward this piece of furniture. Here is Luke showing off my wonderful stool. I think it is such a cut stool too. I think that adds to my affection for it.

Babes in Toyland (1986)

Or as our family affectionately calls it, "Cinciwhatsci". Now when I spoke of magical properties earlier this one really has them. I do not know what strange spell this video casts over my baby but it doesn't matter what he is doing or how upset he is . He will drop everything and stare unblinkingly at this movie. He will laugh along with it and frown at the bad guys. Thus the following video.
Amazing I know, A little crazy I know. He has absolutely no interest in anything else we play on the television. I try to limit his Cinciwhatsci watching to just when we give him his medicine at night. This is the only way he will allow us to nebulize him at night.

Let me give you a little background on this movie. It was a made for TV musical back in the eighties starring Drew Barrymore, Keanu Reeves, Googy Gris and the man from the Karate Kid. I had watched it at my grandparents house when I was little. One day my mom and I got talking about it and she found it on E-Bay for a couple of dollars. It is hilarious how, well I can't even fully describe the scope of this movie and do it justice so I have enclosed the trailers from You-tube so you can gain a better idea. All I have to say is I hope it doesn't stay his favorite movie forever, but I am so grateful we have it and don't know what to do if the VHS tape brakes.


Oh P.S. the cocaine bottle in the second You-tube clip is not in the movie, someone just cut that in. Its a vary family friendly movie.

Basicly the bestest blue-eyed baby ever!

I had never really noticed how amazing blue Luke's eyes are but as I was sitting feeding him the other day I was like, My goodness little one your eyes are the same color as your chair... and I thought, I should take some pictures...
He has also had some major feeding breakthroughs this week. He use to have trouble with different textures and would not chew or eat thing he didn't like the conconsistency. He does like to chew (only not on food, he is a very good chewer on everything else:-)

But these past few weeks we have moved on to rices, graham crackers and Cheerios. Yea for Luke! He also has had difficulties with drinking from a plane cup so we go this magic slow flow cup that teaches them to swallow rather that suck. Needless to say I am so proud of my hansom little man. Oh and he might get his helmet off on the 8th. (keep your fingers crossed)

And the best news of the week. We took Luke in for a chest X-ray this week and all the congestion had completely cleared. This means the medication is working and that they think they correctly diagnosed his Asthma. We are ecstatic. He is doing Fabulous! I will post more soon. There is lots more too share!

HAPPPYYYY DAAYYYYY

I officially, completely and entirely have my very own internet connection!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to my father's early Christmas present, I will be blogging consistently for the next months. Joy of Joys!!! I can even look at the news, check my email, I know its hard to believe. But expect some more posts. Because we are now online at home!!!.

Did I mention I love comcast this might seem funny but they gave me exactly what I needed at a great price. They were so helpful and it is my opinion that the hill family and comcast should have a long relationship together and comcast I think we should have

My New Cousin!

We got away from it all!

(I went to post this blog three weeks ago and all the text was deleted. So think of 6this post as under construction)

Sorry we only seem to be averaging one blog a month, but I don’t have Internet and have to make an event of it. Subsequently when I blog they are Huge!!! But I have two or three blogs that will all be coming up in the next couple of days so you will get a plethora of Hill information!

We are all doing well, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Luke is doing much much better. What, you say? I didn’t know anything was wrong. Well we have had a rough last month with Luke’s health. But he is doing marvelous! It was a stressful few weeks with lots of new problems, concerns and tests. Ultimately he has been diagnosed with severe childhood asthma and sub-clinical hypo-thyroidism and we are pleased with everything. We had a few more blood tests yesterday and he has to take a few medications morning and night but other than that he is perfect. We are so so grateful and feel like everything is looking up. He is Happy and Healthy just look at that smile!

And with Andrew working two jobs, school and an internship we had both been under quite a bit of stress. So when Andrew finished this semester (and with amazing grades{I am so proud of him}) we talked it over and decided we needed to take a rest and get away from it all.

Off to Idaho

We took off an entire week and decided to go to Idaho to visit my family. One of the best parts of this idea was that we had numerous built in baby sitters who fighted over who got to hold the Baby!

The first few days we relaxed. Andrew had been given a set golf clubs and we spent a couple of windy afternoons at the driving range. This was my first time ever hitting a golf ball and I hit it the very first time.

Luke’s first trip to the Cabin

On our way back from the Playmill we were able to stop at my Cabin in Island Park. The Cabin is a very special place for my family. So obviously Luke's trip to the cabin was an important experience so Luke wore his BYU cougars onesie in honor of the occasion. It was beautiful but by far the best part was for Luke to spend time with his Great Grandpa and Great Grandma!

Yes, I know many did not believe it was possible but the Hills have returned to blogging!!!! Or we actually are just staying for a couple of days at a house that has the interne,t but I thought hey... lets blog.. so lets see lots of new developments going on in the Hill house Luke is growing so lets start with him

The Helmet
Our little foot ball player now has everything he needs. Luke needed some reshaping for his head so we had to have him get a reshaping helmet. He has to wear it 23 hours a day and will probably wear it from 6 weeks up to possibly 3 He has done so well with it we are so grateful!!

1st) The BaBas

Luke ha acquired a couple of new talents, this one might be my favorite. He has found his consanents. We had a couple of videos of this but both had poor lighting but I think this one will be the easiest to see. I love to hear his little voice it cracks me up!!!




2nd) Clapping
He can clap. It is the cutest thing ever whenever he is excited or whenever you say YEAAAAAAA!!!!!! he claps and I love it! Video coming soon, I haven't up loaded it yet

3rd ) The Splits
Now I don't know when he got this talent. I heard all babies were flexible but he wasn't ever! But you know the dance stretch were at the end they ask you to pull through into the splits if you can? He does that he will just e sitting there then straddle his legs and pull hiss body through into the splits. Well at least he wiill be a flexable football player:-)


But we are doing well we have had a few new doctors apts for Luke but we think everything should turn out just fine. Oh and we are all going to go on a trip to Idaho next week and Andrew and I are going to spend a couple of das in Virginia City Mt. Fun hu?
