Happy Posts

I am not sure if anyone will even read this post:-) I think most people stop checking a blog after you stop posting for over a month but hey, I can change! But today as I was reading through some friends blogs, and they mad me want to post. I love the concept of blogging and in particular I love posts that make you happy. I love read people's family updates but also just thoughts and emotions. I don't usually do a lot of that on our blog. But I really like reading other peoples. Especially when you don't get to talk to people often. I love to read through a blog and you can totally hear your friends voice dictating every word.
I like it, very much! P.S> did I also mention how much I like my husband! I think he and Luke look so cute in this picture. Andrew's parents gave it to us for Luke's Birthday/Christmas and I love it. I have been wanting a running stroller to use in my preparation for my hypothetical half marathon I am going to do this summer. Hahaha. I am only at 3-5 miles right now I have such a long way to go. But after reading my friends blogs, Abby, Saidy and Brenna have inspired me. And the other reason I love this picture look at my cute son standing. He is so amazing. And while I am talking about things that make me so happy lets add a couple more. ELMO. I like him lots. We got Luke this book a couple weeks ago because he had been sick and it is so cool. The cover has magnets on it so you can play peek-a-boo with Elmo's hands on the front cover. Luke is really into books right now and I love it. He will just sit and sift through a pile of books and babble and scream at the pages. Too cute! We have started getting a few more Elmo things because of how much Luke likes him. I have even added a picture of the part Elmo played in our Valentines festivities. Andrew did a huge Valentines for me last year and so Luke and I did a big surprise for him this year. Complete with a decorated lawn and porch. We had so much fun. But I think the best part might have been trying to keep it all secret.

It's been a good day, we went out to Red Lobster today for my birthday (thanks to my wonderful siblings and parents) and I had lobster today for the first time. YUMMY-Happy-Tummy is all I can say. Andrew thought the best part was my joy in breaking open the crab shells. I had so much fun with the fork and the crusher things I was waging war against them compete with sound effects. Good times!

The Great Grandparent Adventure

I might be biased but isn't he the cutest kid ever. This has been a week of ups and downs. But the best part of the week by far was our visit to northern Utah (ok not really "northern") More accurately the Salt Lake, Syracuse, Sunset, North Ogden area to visit our family. Andrew had two days off in the middle of the week so we decided to take a much needed brake and stay with Andrews parents in their new house in Syracuse. We also decided to take this time and go and visit our grandparents. Luke is so lucky to have 4 great-grandparents in the area. So our fist stop was to meet Andrew's Grandpa Cannon in Salt Lake. Andrew's mom met us there as well and we all went out to lunch. "Grandpa Great" as he is affectionitely called was a big hit with Luke. Sidenote- I also burnt Luke's mouth for the first time. I felt so bad. I put a peice of pasta in his mouth but didn't feel the bottom of the ravioli. Sad. But we had so much fun and then headed up to Syracuse to play with Andrews parents.

At Andrew's parents' house we watched Martin Chuzzlewit that night. (It's a BBC adaption of the the Charles Dickens novel) We watched our Mutual Friend last time, and we love them all. I think under the influence of Andrew's family I getting addicted to anything BBC. And then for my birthday, which is later this month Andrew's mom gave me BBC Charles Dickens collection!! We're really excited to watch them.

We also got to visit Luke's great grandma Francine and had a blast. Luke just wanted to play (and cry). You see, we decided to visit great grandma instead of have nap time. Whoops. But he did get to play with a great grandma's favorite toy (he may or may not have broken it).

Next we went to visit great grandma and grandpa Bates. Once again, Luke was feeling a little tire and so he wasn't his usual playful self. We had a great time and got to see some old family heirlooms. Our favorites were a two pocketwatches, which still work, that belonged to Luke's great great grandma and grandpa!! SOOOO cool! We topped off our visit with a trip to Sizzler. Yum. We had such a great visit to see our family and are so happy to have them close by.
