Andrew's New Job

By now many of you have heard the good news. But for those of you who haven't, I (Andrew) have a new job! I'm the PR/Marketing Specialist for Wahoo Studios - more widely known as NinjaBee.

My Position

This couldn't be a better situtation. I'm replacing a fantastic girl named Valerie who built the position from the ground up. She left me very well established with great contacts and relationships with the media and partners at other studios. She's been very successful and I hope to keep our momentum moving forward.

At our studio I'm the entire PR and Marketing departments. It's my job to make sure our games get visibility and create and execute marketing plans to help them sell better. The work I do makes a very direct impact on the success of our games and ultimately the entire business.

Being the only PR and Marketing guy at our company is wonderful. I'm getting a chance to really stretch myself and grow and have responsibilities and decision-making power that I could never have this early in my career at a firm or a large company. But I'm not entirely alone; I work with some extremely creative and inteligent people who know this industry inside and out and have lots of great insights.

Wahoo Studios/NinjaBee

What guy wouldn't list working for a video game studio next to professional athlete or astronaught as one of the coolest jobs ever? So here's a little bit about who they are.

Wahoo Studios was founded in 2002 in Orem, Utah. It's a small video game developer that makes most of its games for Xbox Live Arcade (which is where you can go online through your Xbox, buy games and download them to your Xbox's hard drive). We also develop games for the iPhone, PC and Nintendo Wii, but the Xbox really is where we do our best (and most profitable) work. NinjaBee is another name for our studio that we attach to games that are our independent projects (games where we have complete creative control).

If you have an Xbox, you might recognize some of our titles: A Kingdom for Keflings, Cloning Clyde, Band of Bugs and Kaloki Outpost X. You won't see these in stores becuase they aren't made for retail, just for download through the Live Arcade. So if you don't have an Xbox I'm not surprised that you haven't heard of them.

In short - I have a great new job with great people and a wonderful company. We couldn't be happier or more grateful.

Oh, and I had to buy an Xbox 360... you know, for research.

Enjoy this little video brought to you by our good friends, the Keflings.
